Trevor Elderfield was born in Yorkshire, England and educated at Sir William Turners School. He played soccer, rugby, cricket & enjoyed boxing.
Trevor was employed in the British Steel industry as a Metallurgical Chemist for 13 years, including 2 years of National Service in the Royal air Force.
In 1958, Trevor married Hazel and in 1965, with four children under five years of age they emigrated to Canada where Trevor had been offered a position with MRM Steel in Selkirk, now Gerdou Amersteel. With knowledge and experience in Spectroscopy, Trevor was hired to set up and oversee the Analytical Laboratory being installed in the new Melt Shop. Trevor's experience in spectrometry and the related science was well known and respected and he has assisted and guided other steel companies witrhin the Gerdou Group in the selection of appropriate instrumentation. He was a frequently used reference by his peers and experts around the world.
During his working years Trevor also found time to earn an degree in Geography BA and Anthropology BA (Hons), two other areas of great interest.
Trevor has never stopped traveling since leaving England. Now that he is retired and photogrpahy has become his passion, he and Hazel continue to travel around the wortd looking for those "one of a kind" images and stories.
