I started doing various different forms of art since I was a very young child, learning from my mother all the usual arts and crafts such as knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, bead with sequins, Japanese bunka, hardanger, embrioidery, sewing and quilting. As time went by I started working in ceramincs and graduated to porcelain, enjoying the detailed work.
.
I started various types painting in different mediums after retiring from Publuc health, when I found I had more time to myself. My first insturctors were Hazel and Jim Birt. My husband Mike and I used to go Arizona for the winters for many years and while there we attended many classes in oils. During one of our winter stays in Messa Arizona, I met John Goudes, who was teaching classes in watercolours, and decided to take lessons from him and loved it. Since then I have painted with many different professionals at Artist Emporium and various art clubs trying all the new products and medium, but have stayed with my favorite teacher of many years Charmaine Watt.
I am a longtime member of the Selkirk Art Club, a member of the newly formed St. James FineArts Group and Art in Canada.
