Kathy was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As a child I always enjoyed drawing and painting. I became interested in Watercolors in the mid 1990’s, taking my first class with Roy Fijal. He was my inspiration. I initially enjoyed painting nature capturing all the fine details but as I continue to work with watercolors and mixed medias, I find my style has moved to a freer flowing and semi abstract style, that allows me to incorporate my love of fine detail. Watercolors are fascinating and bring me joy in watching the colors move and blend forming many unexpected surprises.

In retirement, I continue to enjoy exploring and experimenting with this wonderful medium. I am a member of the Bold Brushes Art Group and display my paintings in the Gwen Fox Gallery, City Park Conservatory and in the Art Rocks Exhibits.

I have studied with and been influenced by artists Karyln Holman, Alex Suprowich and Fred Psooy. I thank them for their encouragement and support.
