LADYWOOD, MB- Emerging artist Darlene Omichinski works in the expressionist style. She prefers to do figurative work. Studying the form of the human body male and female, including their relationship to one another. She also includes the study of children in portraits. Her preferred medium is acrylics utilizing color to bring form and movement to her paintings. Darlene's interest in art began as a decorative painter learning brushstroke work, tole painting and folk art. She has taken classes with artist Andrew Giffin and is currently a student of Milos Milidrag (MFA-university of Belgrade). She has shown her work at the Gwen Fox Gallery, Selkirk, MB, The Cre8ery, Winnipeg MB and in the Eastman Juried Art Show. She has work in private collections in England and Germany. She is a member of the Eastern Manitoba Artisan Co-op www.manitobaart.com.
